Spach was released on Wednesday by the Jaguars, FoxNews.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars signed Maurice Stovall on Wednesday as an insurance policy for starting tight end Marcedes Lewis. Spach, who is primarily a blocking tight end, may latch on elsewhere but is far from a fantasy factor.

The team's No. 4 tight end with virtually no chance of moving up the depth chart.
Spach is probably third on the Cardinals' depth chart behind Anthony Becht and Ben Patrick to start training camp. He filled a similar role last season, which meant a lot of healthy inactive designations. Spach is a pretty good blocker, but not much of a fantasy factor.
Spach’s NFL career appeared to be over last October; he was working on his car when the Cardinals called to offer him a roster spot. Spach made the most of the opportunity and his solid blocking ability quickly moved him to the top of the Cardinals’ depth chart. Unfortunately, he tore his right ACL, MCL and meniscus during the playoffs and he isn’t guaranteed to be 100 percent when training camp opens. Spach will have to fight for playing time. When he’s on the field, his skill-set and the Cardinals’ offensive philosophy should mean a lot of blocking assignments and few receiving opportunities.
Spach serves as a depth tight end for the Patriots and his ceiling, assuming he makes the team, would seem to be a fluky TD or two.
Spach hasn't played in the NFL since '05 and will not make an impact for Minnesota this season as he is buried on the depth chart.
Reserve tight end.
Will have a chance to make the team with a strong training camp.
