2025 Projections
Chrebet officially announced his retirement from pro football on Friday, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chrebet spent 11 seasons with the New York Jets and compiled 580 catches, 7,365 yards and 41 touchdowns in a span of 152 games. His reception total only trails Don Maynard's 627 catches for most in team history. The 32-year-old wideout has suffered a series of concussions over his career and played in only eight games last season after suffering yet another one. His production has slipped over the past few years so the retirement of the former Hofstra Pride player should not affect the potency, or lack thereof, of the Jets' passing attack.

Chrebet will return for his 11th season with an opportunity to contribute in new offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger's offense. While a return to his 1998 numbers (75 catches and 1083 yards receiving) are extremely doubtful, he might improve upon last year's numbers.
