Hearst visited with the Bills on Friday, according to The Buffalo News.
ANALYSIS
This could signify the Bills are still ready to deal Travis Henry. Hearst, if he did sign, would be the backup to Willis McGahee, though he might also have to fight with Shaud Williams should anything ever happen. The 34-year-old Hearst is not considered as shifty or elusive as he once was, but he is a hard runner who is good between the tackles and will fight for extra yards. He's also good at blitz pickup as a third-down back.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2004
2003
Hearst, an 11-year pro and two-time Pro Bowler, was signed to provide depth and a veteran presence. The four-time 1,000-yard rusher is expected to compete for the starting job, and his receiving skills are a nice positive for the Denver offense. While he has positives, the cons include his age at 33; two major injuries in his career -- torn ACL his rookie season and a broken ankle in the 1998 playoffs that caused him to miss the 1999 and 2000 seasons; and he hasn’t carried a full load of 300 plus carries since 1998 when he had 310 attempts. Additionally, he spent the last three seasons with San Francisco in a committee with running back Kevan Barlow, and has never scored double-digit touchdowns in his career. Based on these factors, you can’t look at him as anything more than a No. 3 running back for your teams if he emerges as the guy.
Will Hearst be the main back in SF or will he share time with Barlow again? At this time, no one knows the answer but the 49ers appear committed to giving Barlow a shot. Assume Hearst has his playing time cut into and sees a 20% drop in production.
