ANALYSIS
Massaquoi has now been released by the Jets and the Jaguars in the last two weeks, which doesn't bode well for his future in the NFL. He caught 118 passes in four seasons with the Browns, while consistently putting up poor numbers on a per-target basis.

Massaquoi, who appeared in just nine games for the Browns in 2012 due to a knee injury, was cut by the Jaguars in August.
Like teammate Greg Little, Massaquoi was woefully inefficient last year, averaging just 5.2 YPT on 74 looks. Poor quarterbacking was largely to blame, but Massaquoi dropped six passes and rarely stretched the field – just four catches of 20-yards or more and one of 40-plus. At 6-2, 207, Massaquoi’s got decent size and good speed, and is the favorite to start opposite Little this season. The Browns drafted Brandon Weeden to jumpstart the passing game, but we have a hard time seeing him as a significant upgrade as a rookie. Moreover, No. 3 overall pick, Trent Richardson will likely be the focal point of the offense, making Cleveland a run-first team.
Being the Browns No. 1 wideout just isn't that meaningful. After showing some explosiveness during his rookie year (18.4 YPC, 2 catches of 40-plus), Massaquoi was pedestrian in Year 2 (13.4 YPC, 6.5 YPT). Some of that was likely due to the terrible quarterbacking of Jake Delhomme and the encouraging but unspectacular debut of Colt McCoy, but Massaquoi did little to stand out. At 6-1. 210, Massaquoi has a decent size/speed combo, and McCoy should be better in 2011. Expect him to battle for targets with Brian Robiskie and rookie second-round draft pick Greg Little.
After the trade of Braylon Edwards, Massaquoi became the Browns’ No. 1 receiver, insofar as such a thing could be said to exist. Massaquoi had two 100-yard games seven weeks apart and not a lot else. He averaged a whopping 18.4 yards per catch but caught an abysmal 36 percent of the balls thrown his way (second to last among 90-target wideouts). Of course, he was a rookie wideout dealing with the Derek Anderson/Brady Quinn experiment, but his seven drops didn’t help. At 6-1, 210, Massaquoi has good size and decent speed, but needs to be more crisp in his routes and improve his footwork. He heads into the year as the Browns likely top target again, but his new quarterback Jake Delhomme wasn’t much better last year than the ones he replaces.
Massaquoi is an interesting sleeper who, if he can overcome some issues with hanging on to the football, has a bright future in the NFL. It is a bit premature to start considering him for a spot on your fantasy rosters, but he has good potential to earn some touches in the upcoming season.
