Bowman was forced to start here and there for the Giants when injuries hit the team and that will be the same situation in Miami. Bowman is second on the depth chart behind Will Davis but an injury to Brent Grimes could see him switch sides as well.
Reserve corner in a deep secondary.
Known more for his accomplishments on the Bears' special teams units, Bowman will look to lock down the No. 4 cornerback role in training camp.
Bowman will likely be a reserve defensive back, but he could have a shot to win significant playing time in a unit that was perhaps the worst in football last season.
Bowman entered 2010 as the Bears' starting left corner opposite Charles Tillman, but injuries and miscues quickly landed him in Lovie Smith's doghouse and on the bench. Bowman will battle Tim Jennings to re-gain his starting job during training camp, and should have a leg up given his size advantage over the 5-8 Jennings.
Bowman had a breakout year in his second NFL season in 2009, recording 66 tackles, a forced fumble, and six interceptions. Bowman will start at cornerback again this season, and the budding star should be in line for another impressive year.
