ANALYSIS
This won't help Butler's odds of making the final roster, following a two-season stretch in which he only played in two games. Even if he does manage to stick, Butler is unlikely to have a starting role.

Butler has immense talent, as well as experience in defensive coordinator Rob Ryan's 3-4 scheme, but was a wild card for the Saints, returning from missing all of last season with an ACL tear he suffered in preseason, his first in New Orleans. Butler, who recorded 25 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles with the Cowboys in 2012, could be a solid source of sacks from the outside linebacker position in IDP leagues if he can re-establish his health.

After signing a two-year deal with the Saints this offseason, Butler will likely miss all of the 2013 season with a torn ACL.

Developing young pass-rusher could start to make an impact in the OLB rotation this season, but he's a lonmg way from being a viable IDP play.

Butler managed three sacks as a rookie last season, but he'll be hard-pressed to do much better stuck behind DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer on the Cowboys' OLB depth chart.
