Karim was removed from injured reserve with a settlement, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports.
ANALYSIS
It would seem the ailment that landed Karim on IR was either a phantom injury or not particularly severe, so he'll try to look for an opportunity elsewhere rather than sit out the entire 2014 season.

Karim is coming off a season in which he broke his collarbone. The fourth-year running back has yet to score his first career touchdown.
Karim is a three-year NFL veteran looking to hook on with the Texans as the team's third running back. There's no shortage of candidates for the job, so Karim will have to set himself apart during training camp in order to get some work in preseason games. His NFL experience gives him a slight advantage, but not enough to call him the leading candidate.
The diminutive Karim didn't make much of an impact for fantasy teams last season, posting an ugly 2.1 yards per carry in 63 attempts as a backup to Maurice Jones-Drew. The Colts don't have an overly impressive backfield, so it's possible Karim could work his way into a regular role after signing with Indy with an impressive training camp. Still, he may get most of his time on special teams if he stays on the roster.
Karim was deep down the depth chart last season and it doesn't look to change at all for 2011. Playing behind Maurice Jones-Drew and Rashad Jennings, Karim will likely only see the field if one of them goes down, and even if that happens, it will still be in a back up role.
Karim has impressed in offseason OTA's, and there's an outside chance he could battle Rashad Jennings for the team's backup tailback position. Should he earn that role, Karim could see a few carries per game, but more realistically, he'll contribute on special teams this year.
