ANALYSIS
Skuta will have to clear the league's concussion protocol before he can get back to action. As it stands now, Skuta figures to function as a special teamer this year, and whether the concussion will derail his projected outlook remains to be seen.

Expected to start at outside linebacker but could spend time as defensive end in certain packages.
The 49ers like what they see in Skuta, and he will likely make the final roster. If Aldon Smith is forced to serve a suspension to start the season, then Skuta would be a strong candidate to fill in at outside linebacker.
Skuta will serve as a back-up linebacker to Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman but will have a much greater impact in his role on special teams, just as he did last season.
Skuta will be a reserve linebacker for the Bengals this season.
