RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Tramaine Brock.
Brock enters the 2016 season as the 49ers' top cornerback. His experience and production make him an easy pick to lead a crew of relatively young corners. Health permitting, Brock should have no problem putting up numbers similar to his strong 2015 campaign.
Brock was slated to start at corner for the 2014 season, but injuries limited him to just three games. With both Perrish Cox and Chris Culliver gone via free agency, Brock is expected to start at one of the cornerback positions again this year. He proved effective in his last full season of work in 2013, posting 37 tackles and five interceptions in 16 games, so it isn't inconceivable that he could have sneaky IDP value as a corner if he can stay healthy.
With the departure of Tarell Brown and Carlos Rogers this off-season, Tramaine Brock will fill the void at corner and be inserted into the starting lineup.
The fourth-year veteran is expected to reprise his role as a back-up cornerback and special teams player after signing another one-year deal to stay with the 49ers.
Brock is a backup cornerback.
