Cudjo takes the roster spot opened up by Alex Carter being moved to injured reserve with a designation to return. Cudjo was tied for the team lead in sacks during the preseason with two. He figures to find a role in the Lions' defensive tackle rotation as Caraun Reid rebounds from an ankle sprain and rookie Gabe Wright adjusts to life in the NFL.

Reid tied for the team lead in preseason sacks with two and should get some opportunities in the defensive tackle rotation behind Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker. Given that he was initially cut when the team trimmed the roster to 53, it would be fair to assume that he'd be among the first to go should the Lions make further roster adjustments during the season.

Cudjo is dealing with a foot injury heading into the preseason but should be healthy by the time the regular season rolls around. He will be the primary defensive tackle backup.

Will battle for one of the two back-up spots in the interior of the Rams' D-line.
