2025 Projections
It's official. Sharpe, the NFL's all-time leading receiver among tight ends, will not return for a 15th NFL season, choosing instead to accept a position with CBS Sports as an analyst on "The NFL Today", the Broncos' Official Site reports.
ANALYSIS
Sharpe, 35, is a virtual lock for the Pro Football Hall of Fame after setting records for tight ends with 815 catches for 10,010 yards and 65 touchdowns. He had 62 receptions for 770 yards and eight scores last season. Jed Weaver and Byron Chamberlain are the early favorites to battle it out to replace him.

2003 Fantasy Outlook
Sharpe played it coy in the offseason, threatening not to return. He's getting up there in age (35 this season) and missed three games in 2002 with an elbow injury, but Sharpe can still bring it. Last season he caught 61 passes for 686 yards and three scores in 13 games. He had two 100-plus-yard games in a system that uses the tight end. Denver tight ends were second in the league with 88 receptions (the Giants were first with 98). Sharpe wasn't a huge red-zone factor, but is dangerous from anywhere on the field, taking one pass 82 yards for a TD last year.
