Signs one-year contract with Arizona
Coleman signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Coleman spent the 2017 campaign with the Falcons, recording two carries for eight yards and a pair of receptions for 20 yards. More importantly, he suited up in all 16 games and was an asset as a blocker, so Arizona brought him aboard with the hope that he would provide similar reliability on those fronts. The expectation is that Coleman will operate as the team's starting fullback right away ahead of other potential options like Elijhaa Penny and undrafted rookie Austin Ramesh.

Coleman signed a one-year deal with the Falcons this offseason, and he has the inside track to start at fullback for last year’s NFC champions. Head coach Dan Quinn was familiar with Coleman from their time spent together in Seattle, so as long as Coleman can get acquainted with the system, it seems likely that he’ll hold onto the starting role once the regular season begins.
