When Kelvin Benjamin went down, it was a free-for-all among the Panthers wide-outs, and Brown, like teammates Ted Ginn and Devin Funchess, had his moments. In fact, Brown's best game was in the playoffs when he hauled in four catches for 113 yards and a score against the Cardinals. At 5-11, 185, Brown is small, but he has good speed (4.45 40) and quickness. While he failed to haul in a catch of 40-plus yards, nine of his 54 targets resulted in catches of 20 yards, and he averaged a solid 8.3 YPT and 14.4 YPC. In 2016, Brown should see more time in the slot, resulting in more short catches and fewer big plays per target. But with Benjamin and Greg Olsen around, it's hard to see much upside.

Brown made the Panthers’ roster as an undrafted free agent last season and initially was limited to mostly punt and kick return duties. However, as the season progressed, the man known as “Philly” became a more regular member of Carolina’s offense, often as a shifty slot receiver. While Brown made decent progress as a reserve wideout, finishing with 21 catches (on 36 targets) for 296 yards and two touchdowns, the Panthers signed veterans Ted Ginn and Jarrett Boykin this offseason, presenting experienced competition for snaps. Knowing that, Brown will have to earn playing time once again, but at only 23 years old, his upside should still intrigue Carolina.
