25-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
New Orleans Saints
2018 Fantasy Outlook
A former undrafted free agent, Meredith was in line for a big role last season before suffering a torn ACL and MCL during the preseason. He had a strong year in 2016 despite not even suiting up until Week 3, with 9.2 YPT and 60 catches in the 12 games in which he saw at least 40 snaps. At 6-3, 207, Meredith has good size and is also fast - 4.42 40 - with the physical specs to be a No. 1 WR. As such, the Saints signed him to a two-year, $9.5 million offer sheet this April - the Bears declined to match - pairing him with Drew Brees. Michael Thomas is the team's clear No. 1 WR, and the Saints morphed into a run-first offense last year, but Meredith could be the team's No. 2 with Ted Ginn in a field-stretching role. Meredith was held out of team drills during OTAs, but he returned as a full participant for the start of training camp. Read Past Outlooks

Healthy scratch Week 2
WRNew Orleans Saints
September 16, 2018
Meredith (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Browns, Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
ANALYSIS
Meredith will be a healthy scratch for the second consecutive week, as the wideout appears to need additional practice reps to get properly acclimated with the timing of the offense. Look for a similar alignment to Week 1 in the absence of Meredith, where Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn received the bulk of the playing time, while Austin Carr saw 43 snaps as the No. 3 receiver.

With Alshon Jeffery gone, Meredith, a former undrafted free agent, was in line a for a big role this season before suffering a torn ACL and MCL during the preseason. Meredith had a strong year in 2016 despite not even suiting up until Week 3, with 9.2 YPT and 60 catches in the 12 games where he saw at least 40 snaps. At 6-3, 207, Meredith has good size, and he's fast -- 4.42 40 -- with the physical specs to be the No. 1 WR. He'll hope to recover in time for the 2018 season.
Meredith, a local product from Illinois State, figures to just be a camp body for the Bears after signing with the team when he wasn’t selected in the NFL draft. He offers an interesting blend of size (6-foot-3) and speed (4.42 40-yard dash time at his pro day), but his lack of experience against high-end competition could be exposed in training camp. The practice squad is a more likely destination for him than the 53-man roster.

Limited practice reps behind inactive status
WRNew Orleans Saints
September 12, 2018
Saints head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that Meredith was made inactive for the team's season-opening loss to the Buccaneers because the receiver still needed to get the timing of the offense down, Joel A. Erickson of The New Orleans Advocate reports. "More than anything else, [making Meredith inactive] had to do with just the reps he was behind coming off of training camp," Payton said. "From a health standpoint, he's doing good. It's just getting him up to speed."
