Duke Williams
28-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2020 Fantasy Outlook
There are no fewer than nine wide receivers with legitimate opportunities at a roster spot in Buffalo. The 6-foot-3 former five-star recruit only ran a 4.72 40-yard dash at the 2016 Combine, dashing his draft hopes in the process. So he went north to the CFL. He had a solid first year in 2017, then actually led the CFL in receiving yards in 2018 with 1,579. In 2019, he was signed by the Bills, placed on the practice squad, elevated to the main roster, and was just starting to show what he could do when a minor shoulder injury slowed him down. It looked like the season would wind down for Duke, but he showed true grit, returning for Week 17 and a whopping 12 targets and 108 yards receiving. And it wasn't a fluke as he was targeted 10 times in the Bills' playoff game at Houston. Intriguing, if he can beat out a host of other guys for one of the team's final receiving spots. Coming off COVID list
WRBuffalo Bills
August 9, 2020
The Bills activated Williams (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Bills aren't able to reveal whether Williams tested positive for COVID-19 or merely was exposed to someone who did as he reported to camp. Having said that, he spent 12 days working his way back to the active roster. As a part of a receiving corps that welcomed Stefon Diggs to its ranks this offseason, Williams may have a difficult climb to land a spot on the regular-season roster.
