Damion Ratley
25-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Cleveland Browns
2020 Fantasy Outlook
For a second straight season, Ratley was on the fringes of the wide receiver depth chart for Cleveland in 2019. His lone highlight was a 46-yard touchdown catch -- his only score -- in Week 16. He had 12 catches, one fewer than he had in 2018, but showed big-play ability (16.7 YPC). The Browns still don't have a reliable No. 3 wide receiver, so Ratley remains in the mix for that job, along with KhaDarel Hodge and Rashard Higgins. An expected change in the offense under a new head coach, the addition of tight end Austin Hooper, and the presence of pass-catching running back Kareem Hunt figures to put a cap on production from whoever emerges as the Browns' third wideout. Ratley caught two of three targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-23 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Ratley and quarterback Baker Mayfield hooked up on a 46-yard bomb on the Browns' third play of the game to give them an early 7-0 lead. The second-year wideout got over the top of the Bengals secondary and made a nice diving catch in the end zone for his only touchdown of the season. This was one of the few highlights for Ratley, who had just 12 catches while showing some big-play ability (16.7 YPC). The Browns did not have a reliable No. 3 wide receiver in 2019, as both Rashard Higgins and Antonio Callaway failed to hold onto that role. Ratley enters the offseason as the leading candidate on paper for that job in 2020 pending any additions in the draft or free agency, decisions a new head coach will have significant input into.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2018
A sixth-round pick in 2018, Ratley appeared in 13 games and finished with 13 catches on 20 targets in his debut season with the Browns. Ratley is known for his speed, registering a 4.45 40-yard dash time at the Texas A&M pro day, but rarely saw opportunities to showcase that on offense. The 24-year-old won a roster spot as a depth option among a top-heavy Browns receiving corps.
While Ratley was Cleveland's sixth-round pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, a roster spot is anything but a guarantee. The Browns have numerous options at wide receiver who are vying for a spot, but Ricardo Louis' (neck) season-ending injury does open the door a bit for the rookie.
