2020 Fantasy Outlook
The 2019 second-round pick struggled with lower-body injuries throughout his rookie season and also with drops, managing just 10 catches on 22 targets despite starting for much of the second half. Although the Eagles acquired a number of new receivers in the offseason, the 23-year-old's standout production and ball skills at Stanford should mean that his roster spot is safe and he'll get another look. Given the age and frailty ahead of him in the Eagles' receiving corps, Arcega-Whiteside likely will see the field in 2020, but he'll need to convert those opportunities in order to stay there. Focusing on X role
WRPhiladelphia Eagles
July 27, 2020
Arcega-Whiteside should be able to focus on the "X" receiver spot this year, Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2019 second-round pick was a huge disappointment as a rookie, catching only 10 passes on 486 offensive snaps. Arcega-Whiteside said nagging injuries were part of the problem, and he also mentioned the difficulty of moving around to different positions because of the more serious injuries his teammates suffered. He now should be able to focus on the X spot, which was occupied by Alshon Jeffery (foot) for the better part of the past three seasons. Jeffery is coming back from surgery and may not be ready for the season opener, but that doesn't mean Arcega-Whiteside will have anything given to him, as the Eagles also have rookie first-round pick Jalen Reagor and veteran speedster Marquise Goodwin as options to handle wideout snaps opposite DeSean Jackson. That said, coach Doug Pederson claims Reagor will start off learning the "Z" spot behind Jackson.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
The Eagles weren't lacking in wide receiver talent in advance of the 2019 draft, but that reality didn't stop GM Howie Roseman from selecting Arcega-Whiteside in the second round. Arcega-Whiteside boasts an all-around skill set that he used to reel off 10.5 YPT and 28 touchdowns on 212 targets during his three-year stint at Stanford. Even if he's unable to wrest many snaps from the top three of Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson and Nelson Agholor as a rookie, Arcega-Whiteside's red-zone prowess may help him achieve some relevance at times. After this season, the Eagles are expected to allow Agholor to move on, at which point Arcega-Whiteside will become a mainstay of the offense.
