2021 Fantasy Outlook
Hamstring injuries delayed Mims’ NFL debut until Week 7 last season, but he saw consistent targets for the next six games, eclipsing 40 yards in each. A foot injury and a concussion ruined the latter part of his year, but all things considered — poor quarterback play, short ramp-up time and injuries — Mims had a credible rookie season. At 6-3, 207, and with a 4.38 40, Mims profiles as a downfield playmaker and red-zone threat. He’s still a little raw, though, and he’ll have to battle for targets with newly signed wide receiver Corey Davis and rookie slot man Elijah Moore. That said, Mims has a good chance to start outside opposite Davis and has the physical skills to be a star should the team receive adequate quarterback play from rookie first-round pick Zach Wilson. Makes 40-yard catch
WRNew York Jets
September 12, 2021
Mims hauled in his only target for a 40-yard catch in Sunday's 19-14 loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Mims didn't see much usage but made a big play on the Jets' final drive. His catch helped set up Corey Davis' second receiving touchdown of the game, but the Jets failed to get the ball back as Carolina ran out the clock. Mims is coming off a tough camp during which he lost significant weight due to food poisoning, but the 2020 second-round pick will look to carve out a larger role in the offense as the season progresses, starting with Week 2 against New England.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Drafted with the 59th overall pick, Mims could vie with Breshad Perriman before long to be the team's top outside wideout. At 6-3, 207, and running a 4.38 40, Mims has the physical and athletic profile to be a No. 1 NFL receiver. He's not especially quick, though, and his route running needs work, which is probably why he went in the late second rather than in the first round. Jamison Crowder might lead the team in targets out of the slot, and Perriman was signed to be the team's downfield threat, so Mims isn't assured much as a rookie. But none of those players is a formidable obstacle should Mims surprise with his readiness at the next level. Of course, Mims' outlook, like that of his fellow receivers, depends as well on the progress of third-year quarterback Sam Darnold.
