Kevin Boss

Boss had a forgettable season in Oakland last year, totaling only 368 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The drop in production is largely attributable to battling concussion, knee and hip injuries, which kept him from playing at 100 percent health most of the season, even if he only missed two games. The Raiders used Boss less in the passing game than perhaps expected, as his 40 targets were 30 fewer than during his previous season with the Giants. He also only received eight red-zone targets and three targets inside the 10-yard line despite the advantage of his 6-6 frame. Boss is an above average blocker who isn’t going to make many defenders miss but can break tackles in the open field, posting a healthy 13.1 yards per catch. He signed with the Chiefs in the offseason after being cut by the Raiders and will compete with the oft-injured Tony Moeaki for the starting role. He will play a significant number of snaps even if he doesn’t win the starting job, but he needs more targets to regain decent fantasy value.
