The Seahawks waived Walden (hip) from injured reserve Saturday, Ben Arthur of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
ANALYSIS
Walden was an exciting pickup, as he made two sacks in his preseason debut. He is just two seasons removed from an 11-sack campaign, but his durability is questionable at 33 years old. He'll be free to sign with another team now, and he can re-sign with the Seahawks after three weeks.

Since signing with the team as a free agent, Walden has served as a three-year starter for the Colts and has recorded 124 tackles, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles over said stretch. However, Walden is unlikely to ever post gaudy IDP numbers. But, nonetheless, he enters the 2016 campaign as Indianapolis' unquestioned starting strongside linebacker.
Walden enters training camp as a starting outside linebacker, but faces competition from Bjoern Werner and Trent Cole for playing time. Walden had a career-high six sacks last season, though he generally graded poorly as a pass rusher. He could rotation with Cole or Werner as he's better in pass coverage.
Walden will start at an outside linebacker spot but could compete with Bjoern Werner for playing time once Robert Mathis returns from a four-game suspension. Walden was a disappointment after signing a four-year, $16 million contract as he had just three sacks last year.
Walden, acquired through free agency from the Packers, will bring experience in the 3-4 defense to outside linebacker. Each of the last three seasons playing part-time at the position, he notched three sacks.
