If he makes the roster, Brown will provide depth at running back for the Bengals.
With Mikel Leshoure's season-ending injury, Brown is in position to make a play for Detroit's backup running back spot. He'll start the race behind Maurice Morris, but the former TCU running back will get a chance to spell starter Jahvid Best.
Brown's inconsistent play in 2009 got him into head coach Jim Schwarz's dog house on more than one occasion, and that won't do him any favors in a crowded backfield. He's the third running back at best, but he could also be a training camp casualty.
Brown will likely be the team's third running back this season. He could overtake Maurice Morris should the veteran prove incapable of spelling starter Kevin Smith.
