Jake Locker

With the addition of 34th overall pick Justin Hunter at wide receiver, Locker has a deep stable of outside playmakers that also includes Kenny Britt, Kendall Wright, Kevin Walter and Nate Washington (if he's not cut). The Titans also drafted Alabama guard Chance Warmack in the first round, hopefully buying Locker the time he needs to look downfield. Locker has some play-making ability of his own, too. In just 11 games in 2012, Locker ran for 291 yards. His biggest hurdle in 2013 will be improving his accuracy; if he can increase his career 55.5 percent completion rate, theres upside here.

Locker is in danger of opening the year as Matt Hasselbeck’s backup, so it’s hard to project him for a full season of games. But barring a reversion to his Pro Bowl form of more than a half-decade ago, Hasselbeck is unlikely to last more than six weeks as a starter – and that’s assuming he even wins the job in the first place, something that’s not guaranteed. Locker, on the other hand, has the upside to push for top-10 fantasy quarterback status once he becomes starter. A strong-armed, smart quarterback with significant running ability, the 2011 eighth overall pick outperformed Hasselbeck whenever he saw the field last year, ending his rookie season with 542 yards (8.2 YPA) and four touchdowns passing while running for 56 yards and a touchdown. And that was without top wideout Kenny Britt (who hopes to return from ACL surgery) and first-round rookie Kendall Wright.

After cutting Vince Young, it seemed that Jake Locker's time to be the starting quarterback in Tennessee was now, until the Titans brought in Matt Hasselbeck with a three-year deal. Hasselbeck does have a bit of an injury history, which means Locker could see some time on the field. If he does, his 4.59 speed would be worth a look if he starts against a favorable defense.
