Colvin was released by Washington on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Colvin was an occasional healthy scratch with Washington last year, so it's not surprising that he was cut after the team added Kendall Fuller (undisclosed) and Ronald Darby this offseason. The 28-year-old Colvin worked in a steady role with Washington when he was active, though, averaging 31 defensive snaps per game. He'll seek a depth role elsewhere.

Colvin will be suspended for the first four games of 2016, which should enable offseason addition Prince Amukamara the opportunity to start Week 1. Upon Colvin’s return, he’ll compete with Amukamara, Davon House and rookie Jalen Ramsey for snaps at cornerback.
Considered a breakout candidate heading into his second NFL season, Colvin will look to build on an encouraging half-season in 2014. The fourth-round pick wasn't able to get on the field until November due to a knee injury sustained during a Senior Bowl practice. Colvin will compete for a starting cornerback spot in training camp.
Still recovering from a knee injury suffered during Senior Bowl practices, Colvin isn't likely to make much of an impact as a rookie. He could see time as a reserve cornberback later in the season, though his time will likely come in 2015.
