Lynch (hamstring) was not among the names on Tuesday's injury report, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
After being held out of some preseason action, Lynch is seemingly doing well as the regular season approaches. He has a history of battling injuries the last couple of seasons, playing in only seven games in each of the last two years because of various issues. He shouldn't be in danger of missing Sunday's regular-season opener, however, and figures to slot in as a backup linebacker.

The pass-rush specialist was expected to start this season after posting 38 tackles and 6.5 sacks in a limited role last year. A four-game suspension for abusing the league's substance abuse policy has derailed that plan. It is unclear what the 49ers' linebacker situation will look like when he returns in week 5, but he should still be used in a role that will allow him to accrue sacks down the stretch.
Lynch proved to be a diamond in rough for the 49ers last season, collecting 23 tackles and 6.0 sacks as a pass-rush specialist. With the release of Aldon Smith, Lynch will assume Smith's role as a pass-rushing linebacker. He may not be on the field for as many snaps as Smith was receiving, but he will be used enough to accumulate a decent amount of sacks this season.
Lynch is a pass-rush specialist whose chances of making the team rely on whether or not Aldon Smith receives a suspension.
