The 49ers drafted Thomas knowing that he would miss all of the 2014 season. Prior to getting injured last April, he was considered a talented guard who could eventually start. His performance in training camp will determine whether or not he earns a starting spot at right or left guard.

Thomas will be redshirted for the 2014 season after tearing his ACL during an April pre-draft workout. He was a potential first round talent prior to the injury and the 49ers feel comfortable enough with their current offensive line to stash him for the entire season.
