ANALYSIS

Braman’s first season in Philadelphia was spent almost exclusively on special teams, and with a crowded linebacker corps, his second season will be more of the same.

Braman will attempt to make the roster as a depth linebacker and special teams player.

Braman, a special teams stalwart in Houston, is expected to back up at outside linebacker. The departure of Connor Barwin (Philadelphia) has created a bit of uncertainty at the position, but the Texans drafted a couple of outside linebackers and have second-year pro, and 2012 first-round pick, Whitney Mercilus to fill the need.

The Texans like Braman's work ethic and hustle on special teams, where he'll make more an impact on the team than at linebacker. He'll get back up duty at outside linebacker, but there are a few players ahead of him on the depth chart.

Braman is looking to stick with the Texans has a backup linebacker. With the shift to a 3-4 defense, there's a need for more linebackers on the active roster.
