After re-signing with the Jaguars in March, Walters was no better than fifth on the wideout depth chart. The draft and its aftermath produced fourth-round pick Dede Westbrook and undrafted free agents Amba Etta-Tawo and Kenny Walker, among others, adding even more competition in Walters' pursuit of a roster spot. The final straw was a foot injury in the midst of OTAs, after which Walters' was placed on injured reserve and later released by the end of May. There's no telling when he'll be able to prove his health, but he'll now look to latch on with another organization.
