By Week 3 of his rookie campaign in 2016, James was named the starter at middle linebacker and began to see his role increase. By season’s end he racked up 48 tackles and one forced fumble as his production dipped after a 15-tackle performance in Week 4. He’ll have to prove himself worthy of a starting spot throughout training camp this offseason, while fifth-rounder Marquel Lee could be in line to start at middle linebacker right out of the gate.
