Updating a previous report, Koppen is confirmed to have sustained a torn ACL on Sunday, the Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The results of his exam reportedly confirmed that Koppen did sustain a torn left ACL in practice Sunday. With J.D. Walton likely out for the season following ankle surgery, the Broncos may have to turn to free agency to fill the void left at center. Manny Ramirez, Philip Blake, and Quentin Saulsberry all have some experience at the center position as well for the Broncos.

Was supposed to start at center after J.D. Walton broke his ankle but Koppen tore his ACL in July, ending his season prematurely as well.
The veteran center was brought back, but he could lose his starting gig to Dan Connolly this year.

Koppen anchors the middle of an offensive line that gave QB Tom Brady awesome protection (the Super Bowl being an exception) during his record-setting 2007 season. Koppen was rewarded with a trip to his first Pro Bowl.
Quietly helps anchor a line that has been one of the more underrated units in the league. The Pats know a good thing when they see one and were proactive this past offseason in signing Koppen, emerging as one of the league's top centers, to a long-term deal.
Following offseason shoulder surgery, Koppen came off the PUP list 10 days into training camp. Like most centers, he doesn't get much recognition, but he'll provide the Pats line with a solid presence in the middle of a line entrusted to protect Tom Brady.
Koppen, who starts at center for the Patriots, quietly gets his job done, manning the middle of an underrated line that does what is necessary to put Tom Brady in a position to succeed.
Koppen filled in nicely for Damien Woody last season, now he gets the departed free agent's job.
Late-fifth round pick in 2003 draft. Don't look for him to play much right away.
