It's surprising that the Cowboys would sign another defensive back with off-field issues, but we suppose beggars can't be choosers. Stone will provide safety depth.

Stone will help fill out the depth chart at safety, and little else.

Stone will provide depth at both safety positions if he in fact makes the roster out of training camp.

Stone has good size for a safety, but it remains to be seen how he will transition into the NFL coming from such a small school. On the high end, he could end up having a career similar to Darren Sharper, who came from a small school and has the same body type. On the short end, he could be just another sixth round pick. He won't contribute much this season but could be part of the team's future plans with a good developmental year.
