Baas (knee) was placed on IR on Wednesday, the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Baas, who started all 16 games for the Giants in 2012, has been injury prone all season. In the second preseason game of the year, Baas suffered a knee injury that kept him out until Week 2. He then sustained a neck injury a few weeks later that kept him out an additional three weeks. His latest knee injury was the final straw for Bass's 2013 season, who now joins right guard Chris Snee on IR. Jim Cordle, who impressed the Giants' coaching staff in Baas's absence this season, will take over at center.
