Brendel ran with the 49ers' starting center job in 2022 and never looked back. The 32-year-old has started every game for San Francisco since then and figures to keep that streak going in 2025 while anchoring the offensive line. Brendel (hamstring) is listed as out for Sunday's game at Houston, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Hoping to stay in San Francisco
Brendel is interested in returning to the 49ers in 2023, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
				ANALYSIS
The 30-year-old become a starting center for the first time in his career in 2022 and acquitted himself reasonably well, and while his efforts should get rewarded in free agency, he's more than open to staying in San Francisco. "This place is special," Brendel said after the season. "Kyle Shanahan's offense is special. [Offensive line coach Chris] Foerster is a guy I want to be around in the future, but it's got to make sense financially and professionally for my family." If the Niners decide Brendel is out of their price range, they could pivot to re-signing depth lineman Daniel Brunskill instead and trying him out as the starting center next season.
