Flowers was released by the Broncos on Monday, one week after rejoining the team from serving a four-game suspension for failing a drug test, the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
``We're going to stay with the safeties we have,'' coach Mike Shanahan said. ``I'm sure Lee [Flowers] will get picked up and play well. He's a good football player. I liked the way he handled himself, but right now he wouldn't be our first or second player.'' The solid performance by backup Nick Ferguson, playing in place of injured starter Kenoy Kennedy (ankle) the last two games, made Flowers expendable. Look for Flowers to catch on with another team.
