The Browns released Moore (hip) on Saturday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

ANALYSIS
In a receiving corps with multiple spots up for grabs this preseason, Moore accumulated just one catch through three games before missing the final one due to a hip pointer. The veteran wideout may find difficulty landing another gig at this point in his career.

Should he crack the Browns' final 53-man roster in advance of the regular season, Moore shouldn't operate as anything more than the team's No. 6 wide receiver, but could have a role in both coverage as well as in the return game on special teams.

Moore is the early favorite to earn the final wide receiver roster spot heading into camp, but will have to battle for that role. If he's successful, there's a chance Moore could earn a few targets in a position group that is mediocre at best. To do that, he'll have to show that he deserves to be on the field over the likes of fellow backups Taylor Gabriel and Travis Benjamin.

Moore joins the 49ers as a reserve wideout but was mainly signed for his ability to return punts and act as a gunner on the punt coverage team. He will be counted on to be a special teams standout and may even see a few targets throughout the season should the starters need a breather or if they spread the field with a five-wide formation. His fantasy contributions will be minimal, however.

Moore has some speed and could impress the coaching staff during camp but he still seem like a long shot to emerge on the fantasy radar this season.

Moore is one of a gaggle of wide receivers that will try and make the Dolphins out of training camp. Problem is outside of being with the team last season, he doesn't have much else going for him. Moore had six receptions for 128 yards last season but is no better than 7th or 8th on the Dolphins depth chart and could find himself cut as camp rolls along.

Moore was signed as an undrafted free agent in April of 2010 and will have to prove himself on special teams to have any chance of making the final roster.
