Primarily a special teams player, Palmer finished the year with one reception which resulted in a 1-yard touchdown. The fifth-year tight end out of Clemson will be a free agent and his status for next season remains to be seen.

Palmer will battle David Paulson for a roster spot as the third tight end behind Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth.
Palmer is now with his fourth team since joining the NFL in 2010, and third in the past three months. He is a long shot to make the Steelers' roster.
Palmer is the second tight end for the Falcons entering 2012. He'll see some action in double tight sets, but until future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez retires, his upside is limited.
Palmer will battle for the third tight end spot on the roster in 2011.
