Cox will likely start at fullback with the departure of Ovie Mughelli. The Falcons drafted Bradie Ewing in the fifth round of the 2012 draft, but Ewing suffered a severe knee injury in the first preseason game and may be lost for the season. He isn't expected to see much involvement in the offense from a scoring standpoint.

Cox is competing with Shane Bannon and Tervaris Johnson for the backup fullback role behind Le'Ron McClain.

Cox played in all 16 games for Kansas City in 2008 and 2009, but he may need to battle for a spot on the 53-man roster this season. Although he's tough and hard-working, he doesn't offer much in the way of physical skills.
