Seidman has 18 receptions in four NFL seasons, and with Dallas Clark, Ben Utecht and Bryan Fletcher ahead of him on the depth chart, his chances of making any fantasy noise are less than slim.
Seidman will likely backup up Kris Mangum for the Panthers this season. Freddie Jones had originally been slated to start at tight end this season but unexpectedly retired, opening up a battle for Seidman and Mangum. The Panthers don't feature their tight ends in many of their passing attacks so don't look here for fantasy help.
With Wesley Walls out of the picture, third-round pick Seidman stands to see time alongside Kris Mangum, including in two-tight end sets. Head coach John Fox aims to use tight ends more as blockers than as receivers to bolster a shaky offensive line, however.
