Humber agreed to a contract with the Patriots on Wednesday, Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Humber had previously spent time with the Patriots during the 2016 offseason before being cut at the conclusion of the preseason. Since then, the 31-year-old has appeared in 38 games for the Bills, which included 10 starts in 2017. He had been used primarily as a special teams player with Buffalo this season before being released earlier this month and will likely serve in a similar capacity for New England as long as he remains with the club.

Humber is a 10-year journeyman coming off of his best season as a pro. His 89 tackles in 2017 were a solid number and really strong for Humber, as it was a mark that's 78 percent higher than his previous career high. The real question is whether he can keep it rolling this year.
Penciled in as the starting weakside linebacker, Humber has a chance to rack up the tackles for an improving Bills defense.
Proving himself capable of starting in a pinch, Humber had 50 tackles (38 solo) and a sack in 15 games in 2014 for the Saints. Despite the offseason release of Curtis Lofton, Humber will likely once again be relegated to a backup inside linebacker role, with David Hawthorne, Dannell Ellerbe, and 2015 first round draft pick Stephone Anthony all ahead of him on the depth chart.
Humber will serve as a backup linebacker and contribute on special teams for the Saints. In a similar role in 2013, Humber made 29 tackles in 16 games.
Humber will serve as a backup inside linebacker in the Saints' new 3-4 defense. He holds little fantasy value, absent injuries, as most of his contributions will come on special teams.
Humber will back up Curtis Lofton at middle linebacker, but he is expected to miss the first three games of the season due to a suspension.
Humber will compete for a roster spot as a linebacker for the Saints.
Started two games at linebacker last year, recording 18 tackles. He will be a backup linebacker again this season.

Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier says Humber continues to be bothered by a thumb injury suffered in Week 4 against Atlanta and caused him to miss three games, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. "Ramon, you can see that hand is still affecting him a little bit," Frazier said. "He should be better going into the next ballgame because he would have had an entire week of practice under his belt again. He should be a little bit better. But we'll take a look at Matt as well. Matt was very productive for us when he was on the field in the lineup. We'll take a look at it over the course of the week and see what's best."
