Returning to action
Slater (pectoral) is active Sunday against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Slater missed the team's Week 4 loss to the Chiefs, and after their Week 5 bye, logged a trio of limited practices that earned him a questionable tag for Week 6. The return of the Northwestern product should be a significant boost for the Chargers' offensive line.

Slater immediately picked up where he left off in 2022 before his season was ended prematurely due to a ruptured biceps, immediately solidifying an offensive line that struggled mightily due to injuries the previous season. While Slater did allow three sacks in the 2023 campaign and the offense as a whole finished with the eighth fewest rushing yards among NFL teams, little of that should be attributed to 2021 first-round pick, who figures to be one of the team's offensive leaders in an expected run-heavy scheme.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Extension still on table
Slater and the Chargers are still engaged in talks regarding a contract extension, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Taken 13th overall in the 2021 Draft, Slater is headed into the final season of his rookie contact. The 26-year-old could be looking to reset the offensive tackle market by becoming the league's first player at his position making $30 million per year, after an offseason that already saw the wide receiver and edge rusher markets get reset by Ja'Marr Chase and Myles Garrett, respectively. If the two sides can't work out an extension, Slater could have the franchise tag applied to him in 2026, which has a projected value of $27.6 million.
