Hansbrough bounced between the practice squad and active roster over his two seasons with the Buccaneers, joining the Chargers during the final week of the 2017 regular season as an insurance policy for Melvin Gordon. The 24-year-old faces an uphill climb for a roster spot with Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson comfortably ahead of him on the depth chart.

After attending last year's camp as an undrafted free agent, Hansbrough bounced between the unemployment line, practice squad and active roster a multitude of times through late November. He was brought back for the final game of the season once Doug Martin began serving his suspension, ultimately appearing in two contests but not accruing any statistics from scrimmage. The 23-year-old is back in camp this summer, but with Jacquizz Rodgers, Charles Sims, Jeremy McNichols and Peyton Barber ahead of him, he has an uphill battle to carve out a spot on the active roster -- even with Martin slated to miss the first three games of the season.
