February 24, 2020
Simonson was released by the Giants on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Simonson was on track to become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2019 season, but because he ended the year on injured reserve, he needed to pass a physical prior to his release, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. He played in five games in 2019 for New York, catching two passes for 11 yards.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2016
2015
Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent from Division II Assumption College in 2014, Simonson has recorded 10 career receptions for 96 yards, with nine of the 10 catches and 86 of those 96 receiving yards coming during his debut season with the Giants last year. He also appeared in all 16 games for Big Blue in 2018, nearly as many as he had during his first three active seasons with the Raiders and Panthers (18). If capable of making the roster behind Evan Engram and presumed No. 2 option Rhett Ellison, Simonson will serve primarily as a blocking reinforcement.
Entering his second year with the Panthers, Simonson was active for nine games last season due to his special teams ability, which should be his ticket to making Carolina's roster this time around.
Will compete for a roster spot this season.
