Seneca Wallace

Wallace played sparingly and enjoyed little success in 2011. He accumulated 567 passing yards with two scores and two interceptions in six appearances including three starts. This season Wallace will compete with Colt McCoy for the backup role behind rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden. Despite McCoy's edge in potential, Wallace's status as a veteran leader and personal favorite of team president Mike Holmgren might be enough for him to win the job.

Wallace could be used in special wildcat-esque situations in conjunction with Josh Cribbs, but he will be relegated to a backup role this season behind Colt McCoy.

Wallace is an intriguing addition to the Browns roster as a backup who will likely see playing time in a modified wildcat package with receiver Josh Cribbs. If projected starter Jake Delhomme struggles early on, don't be surprised to see Wallace getting an opportunity as he has always been seen as a serviceable backup in Seattle.

Wallace played 10 games last season as Matt Hasselbeck struggled with injuries. Wallace does a good job of managing the game and not trying to do to much. He's not an NFL-caliber starter, though, and as such will never be given the opportunities to put up quality fantasy stats even if he again sees as much action as he did last year.

Wallace is an ultra-mobile quarterback that has proven to be a dependable option when Matt Hasselbeck is out. Unfortunately for Wallace, Seattle's receivers aren't near as strong as they have been in the past, which could limit Wallace's potential when he's called upon.

With Darrell Jackson gone, could this finally be the year the Seahawks move Wallace, the athletic playmaker, to WR? Doubtful. He'll continue to back up Matt Hasselbeck.

Wallace showed his impressive talent last year when allowed. Moving him from backup quarterback to receiver would prove better use of his athleticism. As a receiver he’d be the legit downfield threat the Seahawks need. Moving him requires signing another backup quarterback, which the Seahawks have yet to do, though.

Wallace moves into the No. 2 quarterback job this season as Trent Dilfer left to start for Cleveland. That isn't exactly a foolproof insurance policy for Matt Hasselbeck, though Wallace impressed in training camp last season and has looked good thus far in 2005. He won't play unless Hasselbeck goes down, and even then the Seahawks might scour for a veteran quarterback.

Wallace is the fourth-string QB and could get cut. However, he spent the offseason working out with quarterback coach Jim Zorn and if he has a strong training camp, he could give Brock Huard a run at the No. 3 QB spot. At 5-foot-11, Wallace, though, doesn't have much upside at QB. The Seahawks should convert him to a receiver or kick returner.

Wallace likey will be the third-string QB. His athleticism is impressive, so don't be surprised if the team doesn't use him at wide receiver some time.
