Green will compete with Courtney Roby for the kick returner duties for the Saints, reports The Times-Picayune .

ANALYSIS
The speedy Green, despite being a local product out of LSU, is unlikely to beat out the more experienced Roby. If he were to make the roster, he would have nothing more than a cameo role as a receiver in addition to his role as the primary kick returner when Reggie Bush is not back there.

Green, despite being a local product out of LSU, is unlikely to beat out the more experienced Courtney Roby for the position of return specialist on the Saints. If he were to make the roster, he would have nothing more than a cameo role as a receiver, as he lacks the hands to play the position in the NFL, in addition to his role as the primary kick returner when Reggie Bush is not back there.

Green, who caught just three passes for 33 yards for the Bengals last season, was picked up by the Saints in January of 2008. The Saints are deep at wideout, and barring a great training camp, Green is likely to end up on the practice squad.

Green can help out as a returner and gives the Bengals some added wideout depth with Kelley Washington gone and Chris Henry suspended.

Rookie kick returner isn't likely to make an impact at WR.
