Following minimal production over his first two NFL seasons, Weatherly totaled 58 tackles - including 11 for loss - and six sacks over his previous two campaigns. That improvement allowed Weatherly to sign a two-year contract with the Panthers as he now enters his fifth year. Despite having high draft picks Brian Burns and Yetur Gross-Matos as fellow edge rushers, Carolina will hope Weatherly's veteran presence can combine well with the aforementioned duo's youthful exuberance to help improve a defense that struggled mightily last season.
