William Gay

Gay continues to improve each season in terms of tackles and passes defended, and in 2014 added three interceptions which he returned for touchdowns. He returns in 2015 with a hold on the starting right cornerback position.

Gay had one of his best years in 2013, but still faces a challenge from Cortez Allen for the starting left cornerback position this season.

Gay returns to Pittsburgh after one season with Arizona. He'll likely be used in nickle packages for the Steelers in 2013.

Listed as the starter for the second consecutive season. Needs to perform well to keep his spot through the entire season.

The 2009 season was the first as a starter for Gay. He set a career-high (and led the Steelers) with 70 solo tackles as a result of opponents frequently targeting him. His struggles forced him again into a backup role for the last two games of the season and led the Steelers to bring back Bryant McFadden (who Gay replaced in the starting lineup) for 2010. Assuming McFadden eases back into his starter's role, Gay will not approach his career numbers from last year.

Gay took a few steps forward in his development in 2008. However, the Steelers need the cornerback to continue to progress since he will takeover for Bryant McFadden in the starting lineup. He did start a few games last season, so he should hopefully not struggle with the increased role.
