At Pebble after recent surge
June 11, 2019
Scheffler will tee it up this week for the 119th U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.
Scheffler has been soaring up the OWGR this season. After beginning 2019 outside the top-1,500, the Texas product has gotten as high as No. 127 thanks to seven top-seven finishes on the Tour, including a win just a couple weeks ago at the Evans Scholars Invitational. Scheffler leads the Tour in birdie average and money, while also ranking seventh in driving distance, 12th in GIR's, and third in putting average. The 22-year-old is poised to be a great player on the PGA Tour very soon. This will be his third U.S. Open start. In his last one, Scheffler won low amateur with a T27 back in 2017 at Erin Hills.
