2025 Fantasy Outlook
MacIntyre earned his PGA Tour card for 2024 with his strong play on the DP World Tour in 2023. It was quite a struggle out of the gate for the Scot, but he started to really turn it around in late spring when he finished top-15 in three of four starts, including a T8 at the PGA Championship, before earning his first PGA Tour victory at the RBC Canadian Open. Just four starts later MacIntyre had one of the highlights of the year winning the Genesis Scottish Open by rolling in a lengthy putt on the 72nd hole becoming the first Scot to win his national open in 25 years. There's no doubt that MacIntyre has the distance and short game to find success on the PGA Tour for years to come. The question is if he can find more control approaching the greens. Not many of the earnings leaders on the PGA Tour rank outside the top-100 in SG: Approach as MacIntyre did in 2024. Read Past Outlooks
Runner-up at Oakmont
June 15, 2025
MacIntyre closed with a final round two-under 68 at the U.S. Open, finishing two shots behind champion J.J. Spaun.
ANALYSIS
MacIntyre began the round a distant seven shots off the lead and got off to a poor start with two bogeys in the first three holes. However, he bounced back with an eagle on the par-5 third hole and slowly worked his way up the leaderboard by playing the final 12 holes bogey-free with three birdies to eventually tie the lead. Nonetheless, Spaun birdied the final two holes to win by two. MacIntyre gained shots in every strokes gained category for the week, notably ranking fourth in SG: Putting. It's MacIntyre's fourth top-10 of the year.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2022
MacIntyre would have been a winner on the PGA Tour if not for a truly heroic finish by Rory McIlroy at the Scottish Open. Nevertheless, that showing in his national open went a long way to notching a spot on the Ryder Cup team and securing a PGA Tour card for 2024. Ball-striking has never really been the strength of MacIntyre's game, but he turned that around last season where he ranked 13th in SG: Tee-to-Green on the DPWT. Combine that with his natural ability on the greens and MacIntyre could certainly make a little noise in 2024. He has already notched a trio of top-12 finishes in majors at age 27.
The Scotsman has been ranked in the top 50 in the world during 2021 and was trying to secure his PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry playoffs. Even in the unlikely scenario that MacIntyre fails to qualify that way, his world ranking, and name recognition, would get him into many PGA Tour events, plus majors and WGCs.
