2025 Fantasy Outlook
The 15-time major champion had a rough go of it in 2024. While he was able to tee it up in all four majors, Woods was only able to make the cut at the Masters where he ended up with a 60th place finish. The only other tournament he played was The Genesis Invitational, which his foundation hosts, but he had to withdraw due to flu-like symptoms. Woods has not played more than five events in a year since 2020, and there's a good chance that continues in 2025. He will be coming into his age 49 season off another back surgery, and Augusta National seems like the only course he can truly be competitive on at this stage in his career. Woods will also have some of his focus in early 2025 on TGL, a new indoor golf league in partnership with the PGA Tour that will take place on Monday and Tuesday nights on a virtual course through mid-March. Suffers ruptured Achilles
Woods announced via X that he underwent surgery to repair a ruptured left Achilles tendon.
ANALYSIS
Woods was trying to ramp up training and practice at home to get ready to play in The Masters next month, but all golf plans will need to be put on hold. This is just the latest in a long line of injuries for Woods throughout much of the last decade. The surgery did go smoothly and he is expected to make a full recovery. Now comes the long road to recovery and rehab that he is familiar with other injuries in the past. It's more than likely that we do not see Woods play in an event the rest of 2025. At this point you have to wonder if his body is capable of playing a 72-hole PGA Tour event as he nears age 50.

Woods played his Genesis Invitational last season and shot two rounds in the 60s before fading into a tie for 45th. He then withdrew from the Masters after making the cut. We should expect to see him in those two events again. After that, while he will try to play in the three remaining majors, who knows? Let's say he'll play in at least one of them.
