Novak fired a three-under 67 on Sunday at the Texas Children's Houston Open to finish one-under and tied for 53rd.
ANALYSIS
Novak made three straight birdies to close out his opening nine holes during Sunday's final round, and he ultimately finished the tournament ranked seventh among the field in SG: Off-the-Tee and T3 in total putts. Novak has now made the cut in five of his last six starts dating back to the WM Phoenix Open, ascending to 69th in the FedExCup standings with three top-10s across nine events played this season. Novak is expected to tee it up again this week at the Valero Texas Open where he gained a career-high 7.7 strokes putting en route to a ninth-place finish here last year.

Novak didn’t have a particularly notable rookie season, but he did just enough to earn fully exempt status for 2023. It will be interesting to monitor the 27-year-old American heading into his second full year on Tour. His strengths are his scrambling and putting. Perhaps he can add some distance and consistency to his game this offseason. Historically, Novak makes just over half of his PGA cuts.
Novak's 10 top-10s on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2020-21 included a win at the 2020 LECOM Suncoast Classic where he played his final 54 holes in 20-under par. Additionally, the 26-year-old made the cut in 10 of his last 11 KFT starts dating to a T9 at the REX Hospital Open. However, Novak ranked 64th or worse on the Korn Ferry Tour in driving distance and GIR percentage.
