71-year old Charles shot his age, or better, in three consecutive rounds at the New Zealand Open at Michael Hills private course, Queensland, New Zealand.

Charles has had a 47-year professional career amassing a prodigious pinnacle of successes.He had 270 PGA Tour starts making 248 cuts (91.8%), winning six times, having eight seconds and five thirds, 131 top-25s and 61 top-10s. His PGA Tour career winnings totalled $546,868; As a comparison Vijay Singh won $540,000 for second place at the 2007 Canadian Open. Charles started 486 times on the Champions/Senior Tour making the cut 477 times (98.1%). He had 23 wins, 29 seconds, 22 thirds and made $9,032,001. In 1972 the Queen of England knighted Charles with the Order of the British Empire. Thus he can sign as Sir Bob Charles, OBE as a result. This certainly is longer than the usual remarks/recommendation but this phenomenal player's spectacular record is worth reading.
